Instability and Baroque Reason
The designer Marjan Pejoski’s pale pink knitwear in 2000, embellished with delicate beaded and embroidered skulls, drew on the embroidery of Elsa Schiaparelli and the Mexican Day of the Dead to produce imagery that moved beyond grand guignol to celebrate 1980s trailer trash as well.
